STV was below-average in terms of its number of Thriller repeats although listings for regions outside England are not always complete so it is possible there may have been a few more. Up until early 1983 it seemed on course to broadcast a full set but repeats thereafter were rather sparse and it ended with eight apparently unshown.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of these STV broadcasts was the last - by far - 'Thriller' to premiere in any ITV region when 'Murder Motel' (finally) reached Scottish TV screens in July 1982, some seven years after the story aired in the remainder of the UK.
ReplyDeleteOriginally blacked out by industrial action (except in London) on 24th May 1975, 'Murder Motel' debuted in all other regions - except STV who were still blacked out - a week later on 31 May.
No reschedule of the episode appears to have been arranged for Scottish, so this 1982 airing of the 'movie' edit was the first time viewers in the region got to view it (unless they could access neighbouring Border or Grampian transmissions)!
it's fortunate given that STV missed quite a few repeats that "Murder Motel" wasn't one of them or viewers in much of Scotland would never have seen the episode on TV.
